Mission Statement Sunny Hill Ranch belief is that cattle should convert grass to pounds. Our bulls are not sent to feedlots, but instead stay on summer grass pastures and hay in winters, with little supplemental feed. Our heifers are raised on pastures and bred to calve as two year olds. We try to stay on the cutting edge of breed herd sires which would continue the constant improvement of EPD's, birth weight, yearling weight and milk for our females. Our milk EPD's are well above breed average which enables each cow to raise their calves without the need of creep feed. All females are multi-generational to our ranch.

Our History |
Sunny Hill Ranch was founded by William E. Pate in 1957. Sunny Hill Ranch has been a continuous source of Polled Hereford cattle for the last 60 years for the East Texas area. The tradition is being carried on by Pete and Mary Helen (Pate) Johnson.
